
During a meeting on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi advised India’s national security adviser Ajit Doval that the two nations should place their border dispute in a “suitable place” in their bilateral relations, according to China’s public broadcaster CCTV.
According to CCTV’s transcript of the Beijing discussion, the two officials reiterated their commitment to finding a set of solutions to the border conflict that are equitable and acceptable to both nations.
According to CCTV, they also emphasized the need to improve regular border monitoring and controls in order to work together to keep the area peaceful.
Following a historic agreement two months ago to reduce military tensions near a disputed portion of their border, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in Beijing.
According to a Chinese foreign ministry statement, Wang urged the two parties to cooperate, build mutual trust, and have open communication.
The two officials reaffirmed their commitment to identifying a set of fair and mutually agreeable solutions to the border dispute, according to CCTV’s transcript of the Beijing meeting.
CCTV claims that they also underlined the necessity of strengthening routine border controls and monitoring in order to cooperate in maintaining the area’s tranquility.

Tension between the nuclear-armed neighbors has always existed along their shared 3,500-kilometer border.
Following a bloody battle in 2020 high in their Himalayan frontiers that claimed the lives of at least 20 Indian and four Chinese soldiers, relations deteriorated.
On patrols in disputed areas, however, New Delhi said in October that it had achieved a deal with Beijing. Soon after, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in a rare official setting.
