
GUJRAT: The final group of eight survivors arrived at Islamabad airport on Saturday, completing the repatriation of at least 22 Pakistani survivors of the boat disaster that occurred last month.
About 15 survivors of the Mauritania-Morocco boat disaster have been returned in the past few days, according to Gujranwala, a senior official with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), who spoke to Dawn.
Four of the eight survivors who arrived on Saturday came from the Gujranwala and Gujrat regions, according to the official.
They were brought directly from the Islamabad airport to the Gujranwala anti-human trafficking unit for interrogation.
In the final batch, eight Pakistanis arrive.
After being questioned by the appropriate investigative teams, all 15 of the earlier survivors were let to return home, according to FIA Gujranwala Zone Director Abdul Qadir Qamar. He stated that following the conclusion of legal procedures and interrogation, survivors of the most recent batch of repatriations might also be permitted to return home.
Gujranwala, a senior official at the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), said Dawn that within the past several days, some 15 survivors of the Mauritania-Morocco boat disaster have been returned.
According to the official, four of the eight survivors who showed up on Saturday were from the Gujranwala and Gujrat regions.

A phony Hungarian visa was discovered adhered to the passport of the traveler, Faisal Ilyas of Wazirabad, who had come from Sharjah.
He revealed during questioning that he has been working in Sharjah since 2015, when he contacted Ms. Banita, an Indian agent, through his uncle Nadeem Sahi, who lives in France.
He approached the agent who lives in the United Arab Emirates and paid her 15,000 dirhams for an employment visa since he wanted to travel to Hungary for work.
He informed the FIA immigration officials that she had given the fictitious Hungarian visa after the transaction.
